Constantine Theodoropulos


Constantine works with clients to help develop the strategies that convert vision into value in the market. As founder of Base Pair Group, Constantine is building a team well versed in developing business strategy & positioning aligned with emerging market opportunities; communicating that client’s strategic narrative to the market; and then realizing client’s value creation through business development initiatives.


Constantine also serves as the head of corporate marketing for EBD Group, the leading ipartnering firm for the global life sciences industry. He also serves as managing editor of partneringNEWS (www.partneringnews.com), the publication for the biotech partnering community.


Previously he was president of Boston Communications, a leading independent strategic communications firm serving technology markets.


Constantine regularly serves as an advisor to senior executives, boards of directors and venture capitalists. He holds an MA from Boston University’s School of International Relations.

Toby Zaleski, PhD


Toby works with clients to develop competitive business, product and technology strategies. He has worked with some of the leading healthcare and life science companies to develop strategies that aim to maximize their return on investment and capture potential value in the market.


Prior to joining Base Pair Group, Toby was an consultant at Scientia Advisors, a healthcare management consulting firm. At Scientia, Toby led over 40 successful global strategy projects in the areas of in vitro diagnostics and medical devices.


Toby also brings to Base Pair a sound knowledge of financial markets and detailed company analysis from his time at Goldman Sachs, where he worked as an analyst within Goldman’s Global Investment Research division. Toby has a M.A. and Ph.D. in Chemistry from Brown University.

John Brosky


John has over 25 years experience as a journalist and specializes in managing complex content to create clear business-to-business communications and support marketing programs for Base Pair life science clients. John is also the European reporter for Medical Device Daily, BioWorld Today and a contributor to Healthcom.

Thomas S. Deisboeck, MD, MBA


Dr. Deisboeck has over 20 years experience in the biomedical sciences. He is an Associate Professor of Radiology at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School, a member of the Dana-Farber/Harvard Cancer Center as well as Founder and Director of the Complex Biosystems Modeling Laboratory at Harvard-MIT's Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging (currently on Leave of Absence). Dr. Deisboeck graduated from the Technical University of Munich and did his thesis (Dr. med) at Munich's Ludwig-Maximilians University. His laboratory helped pioneer multiscale cancer modeling with applications to personalized predictions in clinics and for industry, and he led innovative software infrastructure projects for both the US National Cancer Institute and the European Commission. Dr. Deisboeck worked extensively with industry in the IT and knowledge management sectors. He is lead editor of textbooks on "Complex Systems Science in Biomedicine" and "Multiscale Cancer Modeling" and has co-authored more than 60 peer-reviewed publications. He serves on the editorial boards of Molecular Systems Biology, Biosystems, Cancer Informatics, Computational Biology Journal and Frontiers in Computational Physiology & Medicine. In addition, Dr. Deisboeck received an MBA from Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Sloan Fellows Program, focusing on strategy innovation at the interface of healthcare-IT/analytics and personalized medicine. He currently serves as innovation adviser at Harvard Business School’s Innovation Lab.

Tom works with clients in the area of personalized, consumer-centric healthcare & related technology applications with one focus on business model design, value-based strategies & health economics. He is also Founder and Managing Director of ThinkMotu Inc. (http://thinkmotu.com/)
